Surface Noise Issue 5 – March 2022
2022 has arrived and we’ve already had some great releases in the first 3 months of the year. We’ve also had some exciting album and gig announcements for later in the year. I’m excited for the forthcoming Oceanator, Proper. and Pup albums. As well as the rescheduled Bartees Strange tour and the Pup tour.
Issue 5 of Surface Noise is again jam-packed with interviews reviews and features. A ask Quickfire Questions to Zach of Breakfast With Bears, I look at the record collection of Emily (from Gutsy Radio), I spoke to Forever Unclean, Onsloow and Flight Mode about their local scenes in Scandinavia. There are also full-length interviews with Proper. and Calyx. Plus I take a look at the history of Cap’n Jazz.
And of course, there are a number of reviews including Wilted Flower, Anxious, Spank Hair and Me Rex. I’ve gone back to the Issue 1 format for reviews where they are all together in place. Within the reviews I tip an album to be in my end of year top 10! // Purchase a copy
