Surface Noise Issue 1 – May 2021

Welcome to the first issue of Surface Noise, a place to keep a record of my ramblings about music.

Music really excites me, I just love it. I love listening to it, talking about it, discovering new bands, buying it on vinyl, going to shows, watching documentaries about it. I’ve always wanted to play an instrument but just don’t have the skills required. The closest I’ve ever got to being involved in music is putting on local shows in my teens and early 20s. Writing about it now seems the next best thing.

In this issue, I speak to Erik from Proper., James Yorkston, & Kev Douch – founder of Big Scary Monsters. I also review some of my favourite releases of the year so far and rank the albums by The Menzingers.

A massive thanks to everybody who contributed, I appreciate it more than you could know. // Purchase a copy
